Black greyhound lost in Crowborough area

They are planning a search on Sunday 1st March for this recently re-homed ex-racing greyhound. The area is dense gorse but it's where she was last seen. The Forest is huge (not a lot of trees, more scrub and heather) and she could well keep herself alive with the number of rabbits around.

I am hoping to talk OH into joining the search on Sunday but if anyone else is near enough then please do come along. Contact details on the doglost link.

There was a 100% positive sighting of her a couple of hours ago which is fantastic news - the first in over 2 weeks so the search on Sunday has been cancelled as it will only frighten her away.

Fingers and toes crossed that they manage to get her back soon.

Oh I Hope she gets caught soon she has been out for so long.

Are they hoping she will go in the trap.

That's the plan.

She hadn't had time to bond with her humans and came from kennels so I don't think there would be any other way of catching her. The area she has stayed in is over 8 acres so they've moved the trap to where she was last seen and it's just a matter of hoping she will get hungry or cold and wet enough to go in. But there are loads of bunnies on the forest....

No it's a waiting game now, but at least everyone knows she's still alive and has somewhere dry if she chooses to go into the trap. Being a kennel dog though I expect she's having a whale of a time chasing bunnies! I do worry with the weather though as Crowborough is high up and always colder than anywhere else.

Just seen a note on facebook of a sighting in the last half hour, Sam who is the lady coordinating a lot of the search is there now to see if she can see Rennie again

No she is still out there unfortunately. The site she has been seen in is over 60 acres and some of it is quite harsh gorse so it's not an easy task. They are sticking with it and have set up another feeding station as well as food trails towards the two traps but no luck so far. They have also just set up a PayPal donation link to help with the costs of trying to find her and when they do (am being positive) any possible care she may need.
